I am immensely proud to be Patron of Nonna’s Cucina - Made with Love, Shared with Joy.
For more than 25 years, Nonna’s Cucina has been a provider of meals and a point of contact for people in the community who are frail, aged, or have a disability. We are committed to providing a nutritionally balanced and delicious meal full of home style flavour. Why not join me as a volunteer - they are the best team ever. We also have a new cafe at 30 Lyons Road, Holden Hill.

MNDSA
Some five years ago, I was honoured to be asked to be Patron of Motor Neuron Disease SA. My work is to shine a light for those who battle this insidious disease. Until there is a cure, there is care and MNDSA provides that care, counselling and support.Please do your bit to help raise funds and awareness by becoming involved. BENE AGED CARE
As Bene’s Food Ambassador I often encourage the residents to relive happy experiences with sensory activities - we cook to enjoy the smells of citrus biscuits, make tiramisu truffles to engage our hands in a gentle activity, we laugh as we remember our youth, and finally we share delicious sweet and savoury treats. I always go home uplifted by the spirit of the residents, they teach me so much about life.
CATHERINE HOUSE
I have played many roles as Community Ambassador for the wonderful organisation of Catherine House but my proudest achievement has been to help build a wonderful productive kitchen garden and a peaceful sensory garden for the women clients who experience the effects of homelessness. There is always a role for volunteering at this special place for women and I urge you to apply. This is how things looked - neglected and sad. This is our work in progress - painted, paved, planted.
COM.IT.ES SA
I am proud to be a co-opted member of Com.It.Es SA. Com. It.Es is the Comitato degli Italiani all’Estero, the Committee of Italians Abroad. It is the only elected body to represent Italians living in the jurisdiction of South Australia to Italian authorities.One of Com.It.Es’s signature events is Progetto Donna which seeks to applaud Italo-Australian women who make our community better. Please consider nominating a woman with Italian heritage who makes a difference. All the information you require is on their website.
RADIO ITALIANA 531
50 years ago as a naïve student and President of The Italian Tertiary Students Association and the Italian Education Movement, I was part of a team which formed Radio Paesani, the first Italian language radio program to ever air in South Australia. Recently, Radio Italiana 531, which emerged from Radio Paesani, honoured those founders at their splendid gala to celebrate the milestone of 50 years of uninterrupted community broadcasting.
